Dr Suresh S Pillai

     I am the Senior Consultant and Head of Spine Surgery at Sree Gokulam Medical College, Trivandrum. With over 24 years of experience in orthopedics and spine care, I specialize in managing complex spinal deformities, trauma, infections, and tumors. My academic journey began with an MBBS from Kerala University in 1993, followed by advanced qualifications, including MS Orthopedics, DNB Orthopedics, and a Clinical Fellowship in Spine Surgery from Chang-Gung University, Taiwan.​

    Throughout my career, I have led prestigious medical programs, including serving as the Head of Spine Surgery at Baby Memorial Hospital, Calicut, before joining Sree Gokulam Medical College. As a committed educator, I mentor postgraduate students and guide thesis work in orthopedics and spine surgery, fostering the next generation of medical professionals.​     

    My expertise is supported by active memberships in globally renowned organizations, such as the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), North American Spine Society (NASS), and the Asia Pacific Spine Society. I have presented and published extensively on innovative surgical techniques, including the management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and degenerative spinal conditions, earning recognition at national and international forums.​     

      Beyond my professional life, I am an avid badminton player, with numerous championships at institutional and state levels, and enjoy playing the violin at an amateur level. My dedication lies in delivering compassionate, state-of-the-art care to my patients while contributing to advancements in spine surgery through education and research.
